Dear all:
Here's one of the most astonishing examples of chromistic beauty of the mid 90's Portuguese Premier League, the late Sport Trading and Willow Trees. Enjoy the XXL jerseys and some of the most outrageous haircuts arising from this unforgettable decade. A pure gem which should not be kept for private amusement, thus this English text: the most effective way to make this message cross boundaries and to be known everywhere in this wide world (except for Libya and Japan, because they have more interesting things to do right now - still, they could use this to lighten up a bit).
Above, left to right: Renato, He Was To Come, Zoran, Milovac, Lewis Manuel and Spine Peter.
Below, left to right: Frankie Fonseca, Tulip, Kings Peter, Lewis Charles and Pepper Edmilson.
Oh, the ecstasy, the glamour, the heartbreaking struggle of He Was To Come, bullied and lost somewhere between the opponent centre-backs, the 10 men behind the ball, the unmerciful style of losing time and the unstylish way of kicking the ball away to the stands, the not so glowing but almost biblical Ferbar ad... oh, the saudade...
I cannot find further words to describe my feelings. And my vocabulary is running out. Nevertheless, the essential was delivered to you, fans of classic football.
God bless.

Parabéns! Os textos são sempre hilariantes mas este está sublime: He Was To Come e Spine Peter!! :)
APC é nome de gene ou de cromo de Arouca!
É um crime não estar aí o barbudo do Djoncevic
E para este post, saem as primeiras 3 letras da camisola do Leonel Olímpio.
Ah, o meu Salgueiros. At this moment, a tear rolls down my face, remembering those wonderful times. A correction, though: this team was not known for its capacity of losing time or kicking the ball away to the stands. It was best known by the "quick as lightning" counter-attacks, masterminded by that great manager Kings Mario. We witnessed great evenings of football under that spell, and we were one of the best attacks on the league. Unfortunatelly one of the worst defences either. And Edmilsson was one of the best scorers of the league (around 15 goals)...
God bless Willow Trees!
Any association between He Was To Come and Benfica's Michael "Big Balls" Thomas is merely fictional.
"He Was To Come passing by Big Balls... oooooohhhhhh, and He CAME!!!!"
